Denver officials will open a second emergency shelter Monday evening for women and transgender people experiencing homelessness as the area’s cold snap continues. The new shelter at the La Alma Recreation Center — in the Lincoln Park Neighborhood — will open at 6 p.m., Derek Woodbury, spokesperson for Denver’s Department of Housing Stability said in a release.
