We have Jose Andres to thank for small plates. Now we can thank him for helping bring America’s sixth-largest craft brewery to D.C. and Northern Virginia. This month, Oregon’s Deschutes Brewery entered the market after collaborating with Andres on a new brew, Zarabanda. The beer, a saison brewed with pink peppercorn, dried lime and sumac, is a crisp, refreshing ale meant to pair with the flavors of Andres’ dishes.
