Daily Journal IUKA – A Dennis man was airlifted to a Tupelo hospital after being shot in the groin by his wife. Tishomingo County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a County Road 26, Dennis, house around 12:30 Wednesday afternoon. James Smith, 40, was shot once with a 20-gauge shotgun. Medics transported him by helicopter to the North Mississippi Medical Center. Sheriff John Daugherty said the initial investigation shows this was a domestic situation between the victim and the shooter. “We did not arrest anyone for the shooting, however, the investigation will be conducted and the case will be presented to the next available grand jury in Tishomingo County for their consideration,” said Daugherty.
