Last summer, photos of a giant, glowing moon were all over the place after an exciting lunar occurrence dubbed the "supermoon." Tonight, July 12, marks your first chance to see it this summer. These supermoons appear to be approximately 14% bigger and 30% brighter than an ordinary full moon. They happen because as the moon orbits around the Earth, there's a point at which it's 50,000 kilometers closer than at any other point.
