Stocks fell on Tuesday as fresh signs emerged that the global economy could slow down more than anticipated this year. The Dow Jones industrial average sunk nearly 420 points, to 24,287, by early afternoon Tuesday. The slump comes after a four-day rally last week that had left the more than 800 points higher.
