DreamWorks Animation has announced that the third installment in its "How to Train Your Dragon" franchise has been pushed back a year. Originally slated for a June 17th 2016 release opposite Pixar's "Finding Dory" and the just locked down Shane Black film "The Nice Guys," it will now open June 9th 2017 - two weeks after the release of "The LEGO Movie" sequel. The second film crossed the $600 million worldwide box-office mark on Labor Day, helped by a record-breaking opening in China and international grosses of $426 million which have proven better than the soft $174 million domestic haul. That second film is currently the highest-grossing animated film of the year and one of the top ten grossing films of the year in any genre. The same creative team as the first two films, writer/director Dean DeBlois and producer Bonnie Arnold, will be back for the third.
