Former Secretary of State of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is urging North Carolina Democrats to re-elect Sen. Kay Hagan in a race that will help decide which party controls the U. S. Senate.

The federal government announced Saturday that it will recognize same-sex marriages in six additional states.
