TACOMA — An off-duty Tacoma police officer working security at a grocery store shot a pit bull that allegedly tried to bite him. The News Tribune reports the officer was working Wednesday he saw a man allegedly casing a parked car for items to steal. Charging documents say the officer told him to leave but the man returned and the officer confronted him and a second man.
