By Diana Baldwin Staff Writer dbaldwin@oklahomam.com  EDMOND — Edmond city leaders agreed to spend more than $3.2 million on the design and construction of the first leg of a multipurpose trail that a private coalition wants to build around Arcadia Lake. The first section of the trail would be the connection point to a trail encircling the lake, organizers said. Spring Creek Trail, the first section of the project, will cover 3.1 miles, starting just north of Fox Lake Lane and running east along the creek to Spring Creek Park in Arcadia Lake. The bid, to Rudy Construction of Oklahoma City, was divided into two parts while city officials wait for final approval from the state Department of Transportation for the section of the trail that will run beneath Interstate 35, said Steve Commons, assistant city manager. The first portion of the bid is $2.26 million and the second part is for $660,104.Read more on NewsOK.com
