By Steve Gust, For The OklahomanEDMOND — With enrollment growing by more than 500 students every year, the Edmond School District continues to buy land for future campuses. District spokeswoman Susan Parks-Schlepp said a deal is being finalized to purchase 50 acres of property at the southeast corner of Douglas Avenue and Coffee Creek, east of Interstate 35. The land would be used for either a new elementary school or a new middle school. She said negotiations on the transaction began in November with Woodland Park Edmond. "The transaction was contingent on the passage of the February bond issue," Parks-Schlepp said. Edmond voters approved a $90.6 million bond issue Feb.Read more on NewsOK.com
