Edwards Denies Seeking Plea Deal

An attorney for John Edwards tells the Raleigh News & Observer that his client "is not seeking a plea deal with federal prosecutors over questions regarding his use of campaign funds, contrary to widely circulated report in a tabloid." Said Wade Smith: "The National Enquirer's assertion that we are in plea discussions is false." Of course, it's not the first time Edwards has denied a report in the tabloid that turned out to be true.
