Hours after EMCORE announced it was selling its Albuquerque-based photovoltaics division to Veritas Capital, EMCORE CEO Hong Hou explained the company’s decision, and what he will do now. On Wednesday the company announced the $150 million sale and that Hou would be replaced following a search in the next three to four months. “It is good news, and I don’t think there are any downsides for the community at all,” Hou said on a conference call with reporters.
