The newly constructed four-lane stretch from W Memorial Road to just north of NW 164 Street is expected to open by the end of April. That will complete the third of four projects to upgrade the State Highway 74 corridor from the John Kilpatrick Turnpike north eight miles to Waterloo Road. Congestion has been an irritation to residents for years. One writer to The Oklahoman's “Traffic Talk” column in 2013, Norm, said he and his wife moved to the area before their son was born, based partly on the promise the road would be widened.
