A Multnomah County inmate testified Tuesday during the trial of Lynn Edward Benton in Clackamas County Circuit Court. Benton is accused of hiring his friend and her son to kill his wife in 2011. The inmate, Travis Layman, said Benton confessed to the alleged murder plot while they were both being held at the Multnomah County jail for three months in 2015.
