Exclusive: HP weighing sale of webOS unit

NEW YORK/SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Hewlett-Packard Co is looking to sell Palm's webOS mobile software platform, a deal that could fetch hundreds of millions of dollars but less than the $1.2 billion that HP paid last year, four sources close to the matter said.

Senh: D'oh! Who would want a 4th tier mobile operating system, behind Apple's iOS, Google's Android, and Microsoft's WP7? Ok, Windows Phone 7 doesn't much of a market share now, but with the release of Windows 8, which uses a similar touch interface, there's more potential there.
