Faculty of the University of Wisconsin-Madison said Monday that draft policies for new tenure protections would be a violation of professors' rights to due process and represent a threat to academic freedom. The policies are being drafted by a UW System task force attempting to clarify tenure protections and review processes in the wake of state legislators removing tenure protections from state law in a move that gave administrators more authority to fire faculty members.
