The new fiscal year is 16 days old in Fairfax County and the school board is already discussing next year’s budget. Schools superintendent Karen Garza acknowledged that the budget development this year will be similar to last. The current fiscal year budget, which began on July 1, included millions in cuts and eliminated more than 700 staff positions.
