A federal judge is allowing a lawsuit to move forward against an Augusta police officer who shot and injured a Riverview Psychiatric Center outpatient during a confrontation in January 2015. Jason Begin, who was being recommitted to the state psychiatric hospital, was shot three times by Augusta Police Officer Laura Drouin as he sliced his arms with a knife during a meeting with an outpatient team. The ruling in the case was issued Thursday by U.S.
