Fires hit Niskayuna apartment complex, Watervliet homes Fulton and her two children were among 40 Tall Oaks residents to be displaced by the late night fire, Niskayuna Fire District 2 Chief Charles Friderici said. The fire at Tall Oaks apartments on Brookshire Drive was caused by an electrical malfunction, Friderici said. No one was injured, but several firefighters were treated at the scene after suffering heat exhaustion, he said. Volunteers from the Red Cross of Northeastern New York Chapter provided immediate emergency aid to 11 people to be used for shelter, clothing and other necessities, according to a news release.
