Five well-known candidates are competing in Tuesday's election for three seats on the Mount Clemens Board of Education. Board members serve four-year terms without any pay.The election comes at a time when school officials are working to reverse a decline in student enrollment that has seen Mount Clemens lose 55 percent of its pupils over the past decade and has contributed to lingering financial challenges.
