Fans going to this weekend’s Florida-Georgia game can minimize the wrong type of tailgating — the kind that involves sitting in traffic jams — by going five hours early and getting updates from Twitter and a cellphone app, officials said Tuesday. Various lane closures will start Thursday and continue through Sunday, mainly in the area around The Jacksonville Landing. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and the Jacksonville Transportation Authority joined Mayor Alvin Brown to preview events surrounding the big game, expected to draw almost 83,000 fans. read more
