Ford, Other Manufacturers Hit By Japan Disaster

Ford is closing two auto plants in the U.S. for one week because of a shortage of supplies as a result of the Japan tsunami, quake and nuclear disaster. One of the plants is a truck factory in Kentucky that will begin a one-week shutdown on Monday because of the supply shortage and a drop in demand from individual truck buyers. George Pipas, a sales analyst for Ford Motor Co.
