BARTOW | A former Polk County School District teacher in Lakeland was sentenced today to 22 years in prison for having sex with three 17-year-old students on multiple occasions. Jennifer Christine Fichter, 30, of Davenport, mouthed the words “I love you,“ to her family members as a bailiff took her away after the sentencing. Circuit Judge Glenn Shelby sentenced Fichter to three years less than a plea deal offered by the State Attorney's Office.
