The Harvard Firefighters’ Association is organizing a poker run and golf outing Sept. 29 to benefit Phil Jacobs, a 30-year veteran of the Harvard Fire Protection District who recently was diagnosed with cancer. Lt. Kara Bough said Jacobs was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma and is undergoing chemotherapy, radiation treatment and stem cell transplants.
