G. William Oakley, Master Of The Melodrama

Heritage Square Opera House founder G. William Oakley, who developed his own style of Victorian melodrama and vaudeville into a distinct and popular art form in two states, died Oct. 30 of cancer at his home in Georgetown. When asked, Oakley said, "I want to be remembered as Cary Grant with a martini."
