Doomsayers like to blame the Internet for killing all kinds of stuff: patience, civility and the opposite of patience and civility — rock-and-roll. None of these are totally dead, of course. But rock conservationists aren’t wrong to be bemoan the flattening effects of the Web and its slow devitalization of America’s distinct regional rock scenes.
