PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Gas prices continue to fall in Rhode Island, to an average of $2.59 for a gallon of regular. AAA Northeast found in its weekly survey Tuesday that the average price of a gallon of regular fell eight cents since last week. That is 16 cents lower than a month ago and a penny more than the national average of $2.58 per gallon. A year ago, gas cost $3.58 per gallon on average in Rhode Island, or 99 cents more than the current price. AAA found that self-serve, regular gas is now selling for as low as $2.37 per gallon and as high as $2.79.
