Gay Kearney Grad Speaks To Board About Erased Yearbook Quote

One of two Kearney High School graduates whose senior quotes were secretly removed from the annual yearbook spoke to the Kearney board of education Wednesday. Both students provided quotes to celebrate their sexual orientation but found only blanks under their pictures when they received their yearbooks. In a statement to parents, district officials apologized but said they removed to quotes to avoid potentially offending other students.
