Giants’ Matt Duffy discusses rehab, timetable and acupuncture Matt Duffy and his injured brethren, Joe Panik and Hunter Pence, have watched the Giants’ recent slide from afar or in some cases from the dugout. “We’re competitors,” Duffy said Tuesday after his latest round of rehab work. Maybe we’d still be 1-8 (since the break) if we were all in the lineup. [...] part of you does think you could help. Duffy, who’s overcoming a strained Achilles, is on target to begin his rehab assignment this weekend. Tuesday, he ran six curves - foul line to foul line on the grass just beyond the infield - and went “about 100 percent” in his last four. Duffy said a difference-maker in his rehab was having acupuncture July 12, the day of the All-Star Game. “It’s one of those things, you’ve got to take a step back to take two steps forward,” he said. The challenge was to try to get some type of blood flow and simulate some healing in there. Because I kind of hit a wall with running, we tried it.
