The faithful could smile after the Giants scored twice in the seventh and once in the eighth to come from behind and beat the Pirates 7-5 and end their six-game losing streak. Four of the runs scored on two-run homers by Josh Harrison and Jordy Mercer. The score stood 5-4 Pirates until the seventh, when Justin Wilson's one-out walk to Michael Morse set a go-ahead rally in motion, with left-handed hitters Joe Panik and Gregor Blanco hitting singles against the lefty reliever. The Giants took a 6-5 lead on a passed ball by former teammate Chris Stewart and added a run on Pablo Sandoval's RBI single in the eighth. The other two came home on a bases-loaded walk to Panik and Blanco's single to left just over shortstop Jordy Mercer's glove. The Giants retook a 4-3 lead in the third on Andrew Susac's first big-league hit, a bases-loaded, one-out single, after he had struck out in that precise situation in the first inning with a chance to widen the 3-0 lead. Travis Snider and Gaby Sanchez were nabbed on the bases on the same play after Stewart walked to load the bases with one out in the sixth inning.
