MacKenzie Ellertson scored a game-high 24 points, but a cold-shooting third quarter was King’s Way Christian’s undoing in the 1A district tournament elimination game at W.F. West High School. King’s Way (8-11) led Hoquiam throughout the first half. Hoquiam (9-13) went on a 17-3 run in the third quarter, which was too much for the Knights to overcome. “We just hit a cold streak in the third,” King’s Way coach Charlie Boyce said.
