It's understandable that if both Birmingham Groves and Birmingham Seaholm had their respective choices, they certainly wouldn't choose to play each other to open the season. Both sides know rivalry games are meant for the end of the season, but being in different leagues presents scheduling challenges, and thus there isn't a whole lot of choice for the teams but to play in Week 1 once again.
