Autopsy, scene search under way to I.D. Bridal Veil Falls victim

Efforts to identify a man who fell 200 feet to his death at Utah County’s Bridal Veil Falls continued Thursday on two fronts: a search of the scene and the Utah Medical Examiner’s autopsy table.
Utah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon said no identification was found on the body of the man, who is believed to have been between 40 and 50 years old, when he was found at the bottom of the popular Provo Canyon site about 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Ahead of 2016, Huntsman starts new political group

Washington • Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman is launching a new political action committee to support like minded Republicans across the country, though the one-time presidential candidate says it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s planning another White House bid.
The Utah-based Red Rock PAC will allow Huntsman to cross-cross the country to keep his ideas in the conversation. It can’t financial support federal candidates but could be used to donate to local races.

Utah forecast: Warmer, breezy and sneezy

The forecast for Utah moving toward the weekend: warm, breezy and sneezy.
Temperatures in northern Utah were to range into the low 70s Friday, echoing the forecast in place for Thursday. In the southern reaches of the state the forecast was for highs in the mid- to upper-80s both days. The entire state was due for periodic buffeting by winds anywhere from 10 to 40 mph.
