Harrison Barnes hurt in Warriors’ win over Suns PHOENIX — The Warriors led wire to wire and were up by as many as 26 points on a Friday night during which they broke another three-point record on their way to a 135-116 victory over the Suns. [...] the Warriors didn’t look like their usual joyous selves during the fourth quarter of their 17th straight win. The Warriors’ starting small forward leaped to contest Markieff Morris’ turnaround jumper early in the third quarter and landed on Morris’ foot - badly twisting Barnes’ left ankle. With 9:03 left, the Warriors’ head athletic trainer briefly checked on Barnes, who was sitting on the baseline. [...] Barnes was helped into the locker room - trying hard to walk on his left foot but barely being able to handle any weight. According to the Warriors, X-rays on Barnes’ ankle were negative, but a high ankle sprain could cost the small forward extended time in a contract year. The injury put a damper on a night that should have been remembered for Stephen Curry’s breath-taking, three-quarter performance. The Warriors’ point guard needed only 31 minutes to record his fifth 40-point game of the season and the 14th of his career. Curry finished with 41 points on 9-of-16 three-point shooting, to go along with eight assists and six rebounds. In a matchup of two of the league’s most explosive offenses, the Warriors dominated the night. Leandro Barbosa came off the bench for 21 points, shooting guard Klay Thompson had 15 points, and Draymond Green recorded his third career triple-double, putting up 14 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds while taking on four field-goal attempts. The Suns (7-9) were led by T.J.
