Harvey Weinstein was rerouted to New York’s Bellevue Hospital on Monday while being transported to Rikers Island, his attorney, Donna Rotunno, told CNN. He was experiencing chest pains, heart palpitations and high blood pressure, she said. Juda Engelmayer, a spokesperson for Weinstein tells TIME in an emailed statement that, as of Tuesday morning, he could not provide additional information on Weinstein’s medical status, but that “he was taken [to a hospital] for precautionary measures.” Shortly after his conviction, Rotunno and attorney Damon Cheronis told Fox News’ Martha MacCallum that they had received word that Weinstein was experiencing heart palpitations and high blood pressure.
