Hersey High School senior Anna Maria Niezgoda lost her brother to suicide in 2011, after his tour of duty in Iraq left him with severe PTSD. On Wednesday she became the first recipient of a new scholarship from the Matthew Freeman Project, specifically designed for students whose siblings have taken their own lives after returning from combat.
