High School Cross Country Runners To Watch

BY SCOTT WRIGHTHere are some metro-area cross country runners to watch this season: GIRLS Camille Hemry, Norman: Logged a top-10 finish at state and leads a talented Tiger squad this year. Brooke James, Dibble: Now a junior, James took third at state in Class 2A last season. Lauren Roberts, Deer Creek: The senior move-in already has a win under her belt this season. Clara O'Connor, Edmond Memorial: The Bulldogs return some talented runners, including O'Connor and her younger sister, Tess. BOYS John Anderson, Piedmont: Class 5A's top returning finisher from state, Anderson won Piedmont's own race to start the year last week. Carter Bradford, Yukon: Bradford was one of the highest finishing non-seniors at state last year, coming in seventh. Ean Beyer, Norman North: Ran in the shadow of state champion Ben Barrett last year, but could be ready for a breakout season. Read more on NewsOK.com
