On Bellarmine’s winning pass, two receivers running slants cleared out the defense, enabling Calomeni to curl out the backfield. A Ryan Bunyard field goal gave Milpitas a 3-0 first-quarter lead and the Trojans were in position to go up 10-0 right before halftime only to fumble at the goal line. After the Bells tied it 3-3 on a 23-yard field goal by Cole Bunce with 7:40 left in the third, Bunyard missed a 35-yard field goal with 44.5 seconds left in regulation. Machado and Johnson hooked up on an 83-yard touchdown pass, then added 36-yard completion to set up a Mark Quinby’s 1-yard touchdown run to give the Warriors a 14-0 halftime lead. In Division II, Tre’Sean Bishop, just called up from the JV team, rushed for 118 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown on his first carry, as top-seeded St.
