A portion of westbound Sixth Avenue was closed in Clear Creek Canyon on Friday afternoon as emergency responders rescued a stranded hiker. The highway shut down before 2 p.m. between the intersection of Colorado 58 and Colorado 93 to Colorado 119, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, so emergency equipment could be used in the rescue.
