Hiroshima Bombing Order Offers Glimpse Into Fateful Day

BOSTON (AP) — An original copy of the operations order for dropping an atomic bomb on Hiroshima is on display at a private museum in the Boston suburbs as the 70th anniversary of the deadly attack approaches. The bombing order is featured along with other artifacts related to the Aug. 6, 1945 attack, which ultimately killed 140,000 people and helped bring World War II to a close. Museum of World War II founder Kenneth Rendell says the order provides a glimpse into what crew members experienced that fateful day. The museum in Natick also houses a copy of the operations order for the bombing of Nagasaki three days later on Aug.
