Published 09:57 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2012 Houston ISD staff will get pay raises next year, and property owners won't see a tax increase under the $1.5 billion budget approved by trustees Thursday. Trustees agreed to take $9 million, or 3.5 percent, from the district's savings account to help close a budget shortfall fueled by unprecedented state funding cuts.
