Ahmed Best wants closure for his clumsy Gungan character, Jar Jar Binks, who initially appeared in the first installment of George Lucas prequel trilogy, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. In a new interview published on May the Fourth Be with You, Best voiced his opinion over Star Wars Day weekend in regard to the fate of one of that galaxy far, far aways most highly scrutinized characters.
I Saw the TV Glow has just begun its slow theatrical rollout, with a much wider release coming May 17. There's been a lot of hype about the hazy, anhedonic, post-vaporwave, anti-capitalist aesthetic of filmmaker Jane Schoenbrun after their first feature film, We're All Going to the World's Fair. Their next film is yet another original quasi-horror tone poem that elaborates Schoenbrun's distinctive vision amid the cinematic landscape (so ber-hip but anti-awesome).
May the Fourth Be with You, aka Star Wars Day, turns into a weekend-long celebration for fans of that galaxy far, far away. While Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunts The Fall Guy does land the top spot at the box office to kick off the summer movie season, the big surprise is the 25th anniversary screenings of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace (1999).
