Home Builder Stocks Showing Strong In 2017

Builder stocks have outperformed the S&P 500 index this year with some builders active in the Houston region showing the biggest gains. The Bloomberg Americas Home Builders Index, which tracks 20 builders, is up 29 percent in 2017, while the S&P 500 is up 10 percent. Gainers include LGI Homes, DR Horton, Lennar Corp., PulteGroup, Toll Brothers, Taylor Morrison, Tri Pointe Group and Meritage Homes.
