Hometown Heroes: Ppcc Professors Step Up When Challenged To Feed The Hungry

The first day Tiko Hardy and Ann-Marie Manning handed out groceries at their new Pikes Peak Community College food bank, more than 100 people left empty-handed. So, the two professors more than doubled their supply the following month to 11,700 pounds of food. And even that ran out. "We were overwhelmed by the need," Manning said. Six months later, the monthly food giveaway is a staple at the community college.
