The Homewood City Council on Monday approved a one cent sales tax increase, a move expected to raise more than $110 million. Half of those estimated funds will be funneled toward the city school system to address building issues. “We have a wonderful challenge and that has been our growth,” Homewood Superintendent Bill Cleveland told WBRC.
