The value of residential projects, including single-family homes and apartments, exceeded the value of nonresidential projects started in the Houston area in January, a report showed. Nonresidential projects fell by 45 percent to $580 million in January, down from more than $1 million in January of 2016. Residential projects meanwhile rose 3 percent to $695 million in January.
