The Maine Public Broadcasting Network will be televising the high school basketball tournament championships for the next three years.
MPBN and the Maine Principals' Association announced the agreement this week that calls for all five boys' and girls' classes to be televised.
The agreement calls for payments of $10,000 to the MPA during each year of the contact.
Basketball tournament games are played in Bangor, Augusta and Portland.
A festival and concert will be held along the Detroit riverfront to support positive interaction between the city's youth and its police department.
The Safe Summer Youth Jam is scheduled Thursday at Chene Park, just east of downtown.
The goal of the program is to get young people to think before they act.
