ROGERSVILLE — A Hawkins County woman accused of leaving the scene of an accident Thursday night that resulted in her passenger being hospitalized was arraigned Monday on charges including DUI and reckless driving. Around 10 p.m. Thursday, Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Billy Begley responded to the Hawkins County Memorial Hospital where he spoke to Shelvy Trent, who was being treated for injuries. Trent reportedly stated that she and Ocie Deanna Goins, 39, 1381 Pressman's Home Road, Rogersville, had been drinking that evening, and when they were done they decided to go "riding around." "Shelvy stated that when they were on Sulphur Springs Road, Ocie lost control of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to turn on its side before coming to rest in a field," Begley said in his report.
