Inquiry Urged Into Tierney Disclosures

Officials with three nonpartisan open-government groups said the House Ethics Committee should investigate whether US Rep. John F. Tierney should have disclosed more than $200,000 received by his wife while she was managing a bank account with money that came from a brother’s illegal gambling business. Tierney’s office declined to comment, but last month Tierney said the money did not have to be reported because it came in the form of gifts from a relative.
