An Island Lake woman faces possible prison time for stealing $50,000 from her employer, according to a news release from the Kane County State's Attorney's Office. After deliberating for just more than two hours, a Kane County jury on Thursday convicted 33-year-old Erin J. Noffs of theft, the release stated. Kane County Assistant State’s Attorneys Kelli Schmidt and Julie Gerding presented evidence that between October 2014 and October 2015 Noffs stole about $50,000 from her Elgin-based employer by inflating her pay on payroll checks, according to the release. Noffs, of the 3300 block of Charles Circle, worked for the business as the office manager.
